YK11 is a partial agonist of the androgen receptor and induces myogenic differentiation of 500nM C2C12 cells via AR's Fst mRNA up-regulation. YK11 enhances Myf5 and myogenic hormone mRNA expression, but requires high concentrations (YK11,100 nM or 500 nM). YK11 (0.5μM) increased the cell growth of MC3T3-E1 osteoblasts and enhanced the activity of ALP through AR. YK11 also increased osteoprotectin mRNA expression (0.5μM) and osteocalcin mRNA expression (0.1-1.0μM) in a dose-dependent manner. In addition, YK11 enhances Akt phosphorylation through rapid nongenomic signaling.
