The Raycom prisons perimeter protection system consists of strings of sensors (6 sensors per unit) connected to local processing units. The Processing Units are mounted approximately 40 m (130 ft) apart and all Processing Units in the perimeter are connected to a central hub unit via a single cable with a standard bus. One hub is required every 500 m (1,640 ft.) Raycom can work independently or as part of a long perimeter network where hubs are connected together to create a continuous perimeter.
